A bit about me..
Barbara was raised on a fish hatchery and currently lives in an Idaho high mountain dessert. In mid life she allowed the urge to produce with her hands to become a priority. She incorporates her experiences with the influence of the natural environment in her earthy encaustic paintings. Barbara immerses herself into the process of shaping molten wax and adds three dimensional features to some pieces. Her art offers an organic, tactile interaction to the owner of her art. She believes that her interpretations of the environment should be touchable. The sensory connection between the owner and their art intensifies the relationship, thus allowing the piece to reach its full potential.
